How to Get Your Cat to Like You

If you feel that Fluffy doesn’t care much for you, don’t worry. There are things you can do to break the ice and create a relationship that is pleasant for both of you.

Don’t Force Anything
It’s never a good idea to chase your cat or force her to endure a petting session. This will only cause her to fear you and want to stay away from you. Let things happen naturally, even if you can’t stand the suspense. Patience is important.

Let Your Cat Come To You
Instead of following her around, sit down and relax. Watch your favorite show, read a book, or take a nap. Sooner or later, she will head your way. When she does, treat her with care. Don’t stomp your feet or shout. Never grab her. Fluffy will end up associating you with negative things – you don’t want that to happen.

Wait For the Right Moments to Interact With Her
Don’t try to do something with Fluffy if she’s grooming herself, eating, or sleeping. You love

your cat, but that doesn’t mean you have to interact with her at every hour of the day. Both of you need breathing room. Put yourself in her paws and move forward with that in mind.

Take Care of Her Needs
Cats tend to like the people who feed them and clean the litter box. Become that person. Give her a fresh bowl of water every day and clean her box at least twice a week.
